A Gore-Tex membrane makes the shoes waterproof and breathable. The Mojito has inserts made of synthetic material. They are located where extra flexibility is needed: at the tongue and around the top of the shank. The Mojito lacks a truly wide all-round protective edge. Only the nose is covered with rubber. The eyelets are holes in the leather, but behind the leather is a plastic reinforcement. The hooks on the shank are made of metal. The sole construction is stiffer than you would expect. The bending point is nicely under the forefoot. The Salix sole comes from Vibram. It is not replaceable.
