Scammed on trade by @sunnym !!!

The story: "my dad works for UPS so I will ship that way" -- and then she couldn't provide a tracking number because "employees use an employee site to track packages shipped at employee rate," then she put a hold on it because her package hadn't arrived, and once it did she no longer responded to emails. Trade was an older MacBook for an iPad 2. I even included $52 worth of gifts she chose from my closet since I was delayed in shipping. Shipping (insured!) cost me $30. Never got the iPad.

plasticfaery In case @sunnym has more than one username, beware dealing with someone at mariahkelly@ymail.com. Though I gave plenty of warning and enough time has passed, I will always say that in the unlikely chance it is a misunderstanding I will issue an apology. I don't want to see anyone scammed like I was though!

plasticfaery @missniki Thanks girl. Even when we traded she didn't have any listings -- I had my laptop up and said I was looking to trade so she found me that way. Be careful! A few bad apples ruin it for everyone :(

plasticfaery Update: She admits to scamming me and didn't think it was a big deal until I threatened legal action (on advice of a friend since an email agreement is a form of contract). She then begged me not to, saying she would pay. She was supposed to send money ($280) yesterday and give me the tracking number. That didn't happen ("because of work") but we are discussing PayPal. Apparently she is a 17 y.o. who lives with her parents and doesn't want them to find out -- nor does she want the scholarships she's secured compromised with legal action. Probably all b.s. but who knows?

accentsenvogue @plasticfaery : Conscientious discretion, of course, and I thank you for your perceptive scrutiny as I was not anticipating my evoking of pathos over my condition that you did detect. Indeed, I paid $35 plus tax, shipping and handling for UGGs that I found on Posh that were so saturated with mud, they cannot be cleaned. I would never wear them--something in this condition should not be represented falsely here. Now I pleaded with a Posher that I could not accept Paypal--I've accepted it only from long-time friends who located my post through classmates-Facebook (the two are now linked). A particular Posher promised me that she would pay for two other elegant sequined beaded garments plus shipping when she was paid again if I included them in her bundle. Although she'd paid $60 through Paypal, that was for the first four rare pieces; S/H alone was $12.15. She is now rendering harassing comments about me--more than a month has passed and she clearly has humored me--she has no intention of paying the pathetically low price for the two additional beaded sequined silk garments that she had no right to confiscate. She presses the "like" button on many items and then asks for the price for a bundle of all of her likes. As you attempt to deal with the unrealistic total figure and to reason with her, she demands... Need I say more. Both as a buyer and a seller, I've noticed that some Poshers exist who are extremely and completely dishonest with the sole intention, literally, of taking all that they possibly can. If I must continue to deal with unpredictables such as what I've described here... Begging me to.sell a piece of solid 14KT gold for a price that is far less than its replaceable marketable price, and then being scandalized... I thank you again for your words of compassion. Poshmark must improve ethical policies among those who utilize its app. Some Poshers are so dishonest that I wish I'd never begun poshing--it's been a sacrifice only--costly. Thank you again for you kind words. Kind regards

amanda2337 @plasticfaery this girl used the same excuse to! Like why steal all the stuff? She got mac, clothes, all kinds of stuff. But she was young to. Had a bad feeling. Sucks!

plasticfaery @amanda2337 I think people don't view it as stealing. It's like, you would walk up to a Mac counter and steal lipstick. You wouldn't walk into an Apple store and steal a computer. SO DON'T STEAL FROM US ! Right?

ashleyfreyer
ashleyfreyer so sorry this happened to you!😔 if it were me I would absolutely get in touch with her parents if you could. sometimes the fear of your parents finding out is worse than the police lol if she is 17 and has done this to multiple people she's not going to stop unless she's reprimanded by people that can actually enforce a punishment.
