SOLD Vintage 70s Neck tie Skirt Handmade Vintage Unique Bohemian Hippie

This is a unique, one of a kind flared vintage skirt constructed from 1970s era men's neckties! The ties have been deconstructed to lie flat and form the shape of the skirt, with the narrowest part of the ties forming the waist and the widest part forming the flared, handkerchief hem. The multiple colors and patterns create a playful, boho look that could be paired with a variety of tops, from a snug black tee to a ruffled white peasant blouse. The shaped waistband rises to 5 inches in front and tapers to 2-1/2 inches in back, and looks great straight up or folded over. It closes with a back centered zipper and two covered buttons connected by an elastic loop. Each tie is top-stitched from the waistband down 5 inches, creating a slightly fitted high hip area that releases into the wide sweep of the lower part of the skirt. This is a dramatic one of a kind piece that is fun to wear and will definitely be a conversation starter! The ties appear to be made of polyester and rayon,. There is no label, although some of the ties have Countess Mara, Custom Cravatier and other original brand names, and this skirt looks handmade. It is in fair to good clean condition with a few small holes, some stains noted. and loose threads, and a couple of the seams are slightly mis-sewn, causing bubbles in the seam lines.
