The rough, tree bark-like texture and organic form of the ring, as well as the arrow and other marks on the reverse, are symbolic and meaningful in the Navajo culture. Interestingly, the ring also shares characteristics of Brutalist design. The handmade, artist-crafted ring is signed "H.H." on the reverse side. I bought this ring in a high end jewelry auction. I myself am not a “ring person” but I tried it on so I could describe it. I truly feel this ring is very special. The ring's "rough" texture is polished and smooth to the touch. The ring fits comfortably on the finger and evokes a powerful feeling. It's clear that Helen Harrison designed the ring to be comfortable for the wearer and look natural on the hand.
