This was one of the jewelry company Krementz's favorite floral motifs — and among its most popular.
So maybe it's aptly named as the "forget-me-not" collection, because everyone still remembers, and appreciates its classic beauty and design.
The pin was featured in an early 1970s poster-sized ad. According to the ad, the forget me not collection showcases "imaginative design and superb craftsmanship" that "create the classic beauty of fine Krementz jewelry"
Krementz, once considered as one of the oldest and largest manufacturers of luxury jewelry in the United States, prided itself for creating "finer jewelry" using a "heavy overlay of 14-karat gold" that gave its pieces "much of the wearing quality and all of the rich beauty of solid karat gold".
The pin has airs of a Victorian style with dainty blue enamel forget-me-not blooms and green enamel leaves. The flowers have cultured pearl centers.
The pin’s floral cluster is within an oval filigree frame. The bunch has three forget-me-nots with pale blue enamel petals and shades of green enamel leaves. The brooch is about 1 1/4" x 1", and has a locking c-clasp.
The pin has a Krementz stamped on the pin itself.
In overall good to very good condition. The enameling is wonderfully intact, and the pearls are lustrous. The 14-karat gold plating is still intact.
