These earrings were purchased in beautiful Santa Fe, NM. The gem is a genuine SLEEPING BEAUTY TURQUOISE from a well known mine in Arizona. The mine closed in the fall of 2012, fact that has raised the value of this particular Turquoise. Every person who has been to the Southwest knows the name Sleeping Beauty Turquoise and exactly what it looks like. Sleeping Beauty Turquoise is highly sought after due to its pure sky blue color which shows very little to no veining or webbing.
