SENSATIONAL 1960s' CHRISTIAN DIOR LILAC/PINK STRAW SWAGGER HAT

This hat is from the Christian Dior 1964 or 1965 collection. This gorgeous hat is made of strips of lilac and pink straw on the top, and pink on the underside of the brim. It consists of a tall crown that is folded inward at the top and sewn inside, making an interesting fold. The medium brim is turned upwards at one side. Around the crown there is a pink grosgrain band that ends in a bow. The swagger hat was initially a fedora style hat, but the name could be applied to any hat worn at an angle with (usually) an asymmetrical balance.
