Buyers beware! There are so many scams lately.
1. Please check the Sold category to see if there’s multiple listings of the same item with different names.
2. Check to see when that seller created their account. I see a lot of new scam accounts created this month in October.
3. See if the seller has sold other items and check if anyone left them Love Notes/Reviews.
4. Ask the seller for more photos of the item, or to add a photo with their name with the item for sale.

@ktabla411 I’m compiling a scam list for Dooney bags because I’m so tired of seeing this.

@greentastic I think I failed victim to this and it's the worst feeling ever. They sent me a tracking number but it was sent to a different address and different name. The post office told me that this happened last week with the same name and address. how does that even happen if they print off the label from poshmark with my information on it?

greentastic
@julia22189 I’m so sorry this has happened! They can edit your address with a photoshop. Have you tried checking with your neighbors to see if they got a small package or an envelope? Sometimes it’s address to: Current Resident.

@julia22189 Have you gotten in touch with Posh?
Nov 03Reply

julia22189
@greentastic the post office said the label was for a person on a different street, and completely different last name. they said it could be a mix up, but I honestly don't know how. I've sold stuff on other sites before and it's pretty straight forward with printing off the label!

@greentastic I sent them a message. Hopefully they can do something. I paid with affirm too so that's just going to make it more difficult I'm sure. I have not heard from the seller, surpise surprise. But it looks like they listed it again at some point. I feel like such an idiot.

@julia22189 The address label was tampered with. Was the post office able to give you the contact info of the person who got your package? I believe you’ll need that tampered address label to report it to Posh.

greentastic
@julia22189 No, that’s not your fault. These scammers steal real photos and text of a sold listings. That’s why it looks so real. No one thinks to look at sold listings. I’m always on Posh so I started to notice the same listings over and over. And I also got scammed out of a Lego set before. I was able to recover my money.

@julia22189 You may have to do a chargeback if Posh doesn’t help you.
Nov 03Reply

julia22189
@greentastic they were able to give me the street name but they're not allowed to give out a name or a house number.
Nov 03Reply

julia22189
@greentastic how do I do a charge back?
Nov 03Reply

greentastic
@julia22189 Maybe this info is enough to help your case with Posh. For the chargeback, you contact your bank or cc issuer to take back the charge. You’ll need to submit any info you can.

julia22189
@greentastic oh ok. good to know. I purchased through Affirm so not sure how easy this will be. hopefully Poshmark will be on my side. I assume if the seller never responds to them it will go in my favor?
Nov 03Reply

greentastic
@julia22189 That scammer gets paid 3 days after delivery. I think you’ll be on the hook for paying Afirm. Please screenshot everything of importance so you can report it to Posh and your bank. I’ve read comments of others where Posh didn’t help them. I don’t want you lose hope. I hope Posh will help you or you can at least do the chargeback.

julia22189
@greentastic yeah so far it's not even showing delivered anywhere. they have it labeled as available for pickup which is odd to me too. so hopefully poshmark will be able to look into it. I would hope they would ask for proof of the packing label. Seller isn't even responding to me so if they don't respond to poshmark will it be in my favor? my local post office said poshmark and the seller are more than welcome to call them so that they can tell them what's on the label.
Nov 03Reply

greentastic
@julia22189 How about asking the Post Office to give you the package so you can return it to sender?
Nov 03Reply

julia22189
@greentastic they can't give it to me since it has a different name on it 😔
Nov 03Reply

julia22189
@greentastic I think purpleweiss is another scammer. I found out they stole their pictures from a legitimate listing on another site. the tracking is also now saying returned to sender so hopefully poshmark will definitely be able to refund me now.

@valeriekramer this is the listing to view. the 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th pic are screen shots from other fake listings, which are pics used in the listing you purchased. continue to reach out to posh customer service & don't give up until they help you! sending good vibes! ❣️

@melmayfield Thank you, I have contacted customer support a couple more times.

@valeriekramer good to hear. hope all works out for you. if posh isn't able/doesn't help, at the least you can dispute the charge with your bank/credit card. whatever happens, hope everything works out in your favor; i'm sending good & positive thoughts your way!
