These are in good shape but does have some scratches from wearing in heavy brush. The original insole was made of cardboard so these don't have any sort of insole. There is slight wear on the heels. If you are looking for pull on boots with a low heel, these work well. These boots would work well for medieval reenactment and Ren-Faires as well as field boots. When I bought them they were listed as officer's boots, but confess I don't know how to tell that.
