Royal Doulton Character Toby Jug The Cardinal

From the Royal Doulton in England is this ceramic jug in the shape of Cardinal Thomas Wolsey, a figure from Shakespeare's play Henry Vill, often depicted with a distinctive hat and robe. This was handcrafted by Charles Noke in 1939 of glazed earthenware. It measures approximately 2.25" tall x 2.25" long x almost 4" from nose to handle. It's in excellent condition and has the Royal Doulton stamp still on the back. A neat fact is that the early Cardinals had dark brown hair while the ones made later have either gray or white hair.
