These vintage Salt & Pepper shakers from the 1950s were found at a local estate sale and are NOS. They come in the original box.
The daughter of the original owners states that her parents owned the 66 Service Station & Courts in San Jon, New Mexico on Route 66.
These Salt and Pepper shakers were given out as a promotional item for the gas station and were recovered when the business shut down.
Note the gas price on the pump was around 26 cents per gallon which was about the national average in the 1950s.
These shakers would be great for Route 66 enthusiasts, collectors of petroliana, New Mexico, Southwestern, and mid-century items.
The original fragile box on these shakers sustained some damage when I opened it to verify that the shakers were in NOS condition.
The shakers are in excellent condition as seen in the photos.
