The phrase "appears to 'Burst' from the vase form" is used to describe the dynamic relief design on some of Martin Freyer vases for Rosenthal's Studio Line. Freyer was a German designer who worked with Rosenthal Porcelain from 1964 to 1974, known for his Op Art and Brutalist influences in his vase designs. 
Martin Freyer held many roles: architect, graphic designer  stage designer, textile and wallpaper designer, photographer, painter, teacher. He created the Volkswagen VW logo in 1938.
