Box may show signs of shelf wear Certificate of Authenticity (COA) Card included- Glue dot on back of card Card Description- This feminine, early 20th century evening sho is reminiscent of the luxuriously appointed court shoes of earlier centuries, complete with the famous Louis XIV heel, curved like a corseted waist. Rising hemlines which drew attention to the foot explain the style's return to popularity after 1910 in Europe and America. The shoe is softened by a more rounded toe and the rose bow adorning the shoe is a romantic touch. The soft pink lining of the shoe, hidden by the foot, is also part of the shoe's mystique, suggesting secrets to be revealed. In an era when not only hems but women's rights were on the rise, suffragettes were petitioning for the right to vote. Whatever their politics, most women still voted in favor of style.
