This small paperback is excellent as an introduction for riders or pony clubbers interested in foxhunting and general protocol and terminology. Foreword, preface, six chapters, conclusion, and an outstanding glossary. This paperback is from my personal vintage equestrian collection. I’ve had it since 1972, back when I was riding in my local chapter of US Pony Club. From 1973-1978 I participated as a junior in drag hunts with the West Hills Hunt Club. This is where coyote scent is dragged throughout the hillsides so the hounds learn to follow a scent. No animals are actually hunted or harmed in any way. I also helped road the hounds with the huntsman every week at 5 am which was excellent experience for my horse, who I was keeping fit for prelim eventing. Pages are slightly yellow with gentle wear.
