This 439-page hardcover, "Richard Wagoner and the Anti-Semitic Imagination," is in very good used condition. Author Mark A. Weiner argues that anti-semitism is a pervasive feature in the operas of Richard Wagner. By examining Wagner's music, libretti, and stage directions, Weiner reconstructs the iconography of the eye, voice, smell, gait, and sexuality that were crucial to the operas and associated with anti-semitism. Published in 1995 by the University of Nebraska Press, this book has occasional light pencil marks that could be erased. The dust jacket is also in great shape but has a beige sales sticker in the lower left corner. No foxing or bent pages.
