The bail is silver and textured. The stone is sliced fairly thin with gorgeous rough textures along the sides. Such a pretty piece in wonderful shape. Brown agate's chemical properties are primarily determined by its composition as a variety of chalcedony, with the chemical formula \(SiO_{2}\) (silicon dioxide). This silica-based mineral also contains trace amounts of other substances like water, moganite, and sometimes iron oxides, which can contribute to its color and banding.
