Robert was the son of Roger Hanson Fife and Sara Lucretia Hoover. He married Nellie Gretchen Fisse Albertson.
Fairmount - The Rev. Robert S. Fife, 77, retired song evangelist, who has gained recognition as the world's premier hand saw solist, died today at Marion General Hospital. He had been seriously ill for two weeks.
The Rev. Fife had traveled as an evangelist in every state of the nation.
Born in Hardin County, Ky., Rev. Fife had lived in Fairmount for 25 years. He and two brothers were baptised and ordained by their father, the Rev. Roger Fife.
The evangelist was a member of the Fairmount Christian Chruch, the Fairmount Chapters of the Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star, the India Temple Shrine of Oklahoma City and the Scottish Rite of Oklahoma Valley.
Survivors are the widow, the former Gretchen Albertson; one stepson, Philip Albertson of Marion; a step grandchild, and a brother, Earl, Kingsport, Tenn.
