Convertible drop earrings designed by Rena Koopman.
Beautiful one of a king artist studio pieces, created by the artist goldsmith Rena Koopman. These convertible day and night drop earrings has been crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with frosted satin finish. Suited with comfortable French omega backs for fastening clips and the addition of posts for pierced ears can be easily done. They are fitted with hooks to dismount the drops elements. The design as made with the difficult Japanese technique of mixing metals named Mokume.

Measurements: Upper part 25.3 mm by 26.1 mm (1 x 1 Inch), full drop extended 25 mm by 100 mm (1 x 4 Inches).

Rena Koopman, was educated as an art historian at Vassar College. Koopman visited Japan in the early 1970s to learn metalworking techniques. Koopman was dazzled both by the workmanship she observed and by the Japanese design aesthetic, which has since been the dominant influence on her work.
