Red, White, Green 1950s Norwegian Sweater in Xmas Colors - Fit S-M

This is a gorgeous hand knit c 1950 Norwegian Sweater in red, white & green - perfect colors for the coming Christmas Holiday Season. Made in Pure Norwegian Wool which is extra cozy because the sheep are raised in cold Scandinavian weather and develop very dense warm coats. In addition to the high quality wool this sweater is tightly knit on small needles. It is difficult to knit so tightly and takes twice as long to execute a garment made this way. It takes perfect knitting technique and a great deal of patience but produces a sweater of the highest quality. Technically this sweater is beautifully made with the tight stitches in perfect tension throughout and perfectly executed stranded patterning around the fancy neckline, wrists and hem. It closes with handmade pewter buttons in a classic snowflake design - another perfect touch for a winter Holiday sweater. It will fit a woman’s Small to Medium size. It is in excellent condition. Size: Fits size S - M measured flat is a 36” bust when buttoned. Worn open as a cardigan there will be a 4” gap opening in the middle front in addition to the buttoned measurement - so add 4” to that and it will be 40” ) 
Pit to Pt is 18” when fully buttoned ( see above) 
Length is 21” from shoulder to bottom. Sleeves - Underarm to cuff edge is 16” - sleeves are bracelet length - that was the style in the 1950s era. Sleeves should be measured this way. 
This is a great all around fit for a S - M size.
