@gwen1870 ooooh! I’m sorry to hear that! It does shock and insult you doesn’t it? I agree. Can not stand it. I agree, all for a deal but there’s a right way and wrong way and offering 50% for the price is a BIG no for me. I have been lowballed many times. It’s never easy! That’s when you wish you could share this. ♥️

Love this! Now I just need one that kindly explains why it’s rude to create a bundle with 10+ items and then offer an amount lower than the price of the highest marked item. So I should just give you all that for free? 😒
Dec 06Reply

desertbeauty37
@jchase14 OH MY GOSH! I can’t believe someone would do that! Sorry if this is rude, but seriously! Very insulting! I’m sure they wouldn’t like that?! So maybe turn around and do it to them! LOL! Just see how it feels! Ridiculous.
I’m sorry you had to go thru that too.
Dec 06Reply

jenellscloset
@desertbeauty37 I swear I thought about doing that! But I worry they might accept it. 😬 Or I was thinking maybe do a Hall of Shame post of How Not to But (but black out the buyer’s personal info of coarse so that it’s not too cruel lol). Because I’m telling you I have some good ones. I’ve gotten 20% of my asking price on luxury bags (and I always list below lowest ask on Posh). I even got an offer one time on an item listed for $5 where the amount was so low I would’ve had to pay to sell it! 😂

@jchase14 hahahahaha! That’s ridiculous! Me too. Or I would have made .5 cents! Good lord. The stories keep getting better! I agree, they may accept but I doubt it if you offer $2.00 😂😂😂😂 please do it so we can all laugh! Lol.

@gwen1870 my favorite are the $5 offers for name brand items. Let me please basically pay you to ship this 🤦🏻♀️
Jan 26Reply

desertbeauty37
@pinkberryftw lol! I know! Or when a brand new pair of jeans are $65 and you list them for $26 and they offer you $10. Just RUDE! Seriously.
Jan 26Reply

pinkberryftw
@gwen1870 five things for $65 is already a steal in my opinion but it depends on how badly you want them out of the house! It’s funny because I also buy on the app and always offer a little lower but would NEVER offer at such steep discounts! Sometimes if someone offers any amount for something no one has liked in a year I’m just like “whatever get it out of my life” but mostly I’m like “NOPE!”
Jan 26Reply

pinkberryftw
@desertbeauty37 agreed! It’s like, do you realize that I actually put work into getting these, laundering them, making them look nice on the site and shipping them out? $10? That’s a lot of work for a $5 profit!
Jan 26Reply

desertbeauty37
@pinkberryftw you are a smart woman! Yes! And on the flip side when someone tries to sell something brand new for the same price of an item in a store? Hahahaha. That’s funny. I mean we’re all here for a deal. Pricing just cracks me up.
Jan 26Reply

pinkberryftw
@desertbeauty37 100%! All about meeting in the middle!
Jan 26Reply

pinkberryftw
@gwen1870 agreed! How do you do with that strategy? I tend to price higher so that I can "delight" someone who likes an item with like a 30-40% discount. Always on the fence what is that better strategy... Also @desertbeauty37 thank you for sparking some great conversation with this post!
Jan 26Reply

@dealmonkeyz consider the mandatory shipping of $7.11, so items that are worth $15 mew are not worth $10 + $7.11.
Oct 11Reply

roymichaelton
Why not? It’s used clothing on Poshmark. The app isn’t designed to make you into a small business owner. The app is designed to make Poshmark money. Absolutely zero market research goes into the asking price, so as long as sellers just make up their asking price, buyers can just make up their buying price.
Oct 11Reply

roymichaelton
@desertbeauty37 If sellers can just make up their asking price, buyers can just make up their asking price. In order to purchase an item that is $10 used versus $15 new by offering a “fair asking price” I would have to offer a price 70% off the asking in order for it to make financial sense with the mandatory $7.11 shipping.
Oct 11Reply

roymichaelton
@dealmonkeyz not a deal if I can get the item on Amazon for less than your asking price with free shipping. Good luck asking retail for used socks LOL.
Oct 11Reply

roymichaelton
@dealmonkeyz Now you lowered your price and cost of shipping. Clearly you can’t sell the item I “lowballed” you on. You lowered your price 40% on top of being 70% off so you don’t even follow your own bullshit.

@hazel243011 please use this chart on how not to lowball someone’s item. You shouldn’t offer $10.00 for their $16.00 item.
Jun 24Reply

hazel243011
@desertbeauty37 why are you making it a big deal? It was just an offer you’re on your right to accept it or not keep your sandals and wait for the person who wants to buy them
Jun 24Reply

desertbeauty37
@hazel243011 just wanted you to get an idea of what not to offer. Not making a big deal, just trying to help you out. You have to take into consideration what fees Poshmark takes too. What you offered was nonsense. Just use this chart as you go forward in your offers.
Jun 24Reply

hazel243011
@desertbeauty37 If you are the kind of people who doesn’t like to get offers than you can put it as a firm price I don’t know what is acceptable for you I’m not in your mind if it was nonsense like you said just ignore it surprising how after so many purchases here you’re the only one making it this big for something so little
