Please consider this chart before sending an offer! 10-20% is most likely to be accepted. Items priced at $10 or less have very low profit margins...so please try to honor those prices. Keep in mind Posh Mark fees (20% of sale for items $15 or more and $3 for any sale under $15)
If an item is $7... I'm only making $4 after fees. If you offer $4, I'd only make $1.
I try to keep my prices reasonable to accommodate the shipping charge. Please bundle items you like for a shipping discount! ❤💋

@fatface76 may I please use this in my closet? I recieved a $4 offer on a $9 item...after Poshmark takes their cut, I'd earn $1....not worth the trip to the next town to the post office, the cost of items to package them nicely and wrangling my toddler to get to the post office.
Jul 15Reply

      fatface76
@bluezebra8 absolutely! When I receive low ball offers, I drop this pic in their dressing room!
Jul 15Reply

      bluezebra8
@fatface76 I didn't even counter offer, I just hit decline. I've never had that happen before. I know some don't realize that Posh takes a share, others aren't good at math (myself included) and then some know and dont care.
As a Thanks for letting me share this, I will share items from your closet. Happy Poshing!

This is very helpful! I just starting using Poshmark as a buyer, and have made a few unsuccessful offers. From a buyer perspective, I 1) expect there to be a counter offer so ask a little less then what I am willing to pay 2) Do my research on the item. If I can buy the item new directly from retailer for same price or slightly more (even less) I would hope the seller would look up current retail price as well.

How do I know what's reasonable as far as receiving an offer? I lowered the price not too long ago and this is the first time doing this. I'm still new here.
May 01Reply

      fatface76
@kmess04 you'll know how much of your profit you're willing to lose when someone makes an offer and you calculate how much is left after Posh deducts fees. An example is a $15 shirt. shipping is $6, Posh Fees are $3...Subtracting those, you're already only making $6. Sooo if someone offers you $7 for the shirt... probably not good for you.
May 03Reply

      kmess04
@fatface76 I didn't/don't think I'm comfortable that I drop the price 25% in 2 1/2 weeks. Does that sound right?

I have a question. If my item is $9, and someone ask for discounted shipping. Don’t I essentially make like $6 on the item? Because if I discount by $2.12 shipping, Poshmark takes that shipping cost from the $9. Or am I wrong?? Thanks for your help!
May 16Reply

      fatface76
@clasilady you are mostly correct. you'll make less than $6 though because any shipping discount you offer comes out of your profit in addition to the $3 PM is going to keep. I hope that makes sense

The low ball offers are getting ridiculous. Most recently I received an offer of $30 for a $129 item.. really. I declined and she sent a $40 off which I ignored. Today I got an offer of $10 for a $22 item... This gets tiring.

I wrote to one that I don't respond to offers 75% + off the asking price, but I would be happy to consider a REASONABLE offer. @fatface76 Hi, I'm contemplating whether or not I should directly share this absolutely priceless information with a current lowballer of mine. Brand new shoes, NWT. Retail = $50 at least. I priced them at $30. The offer they made is $15. I am so flipping sure, like Im supposed to settle on making less than $12 on a brand new pair of Classic Black low top Converse " Chuck Taylors". No, right? Thanks Linda

Hi there I have been on poshmark since March of this year and I having trouble with same thing plus the 5 pound thing. I don't know what to do when they bundle 6 items and there close to 10 pounds. Any suggestions and can I add your chart to my page?
Jul 27Reply

      shopretailhq
@bitsofcountry of course you can, add this. Also with heavier items no discounts on shipping- you can’t come out of pocket for the sale. Interested buyers will understand. Let them know in the bundle comments so it is private to others.
Jul 31Reply

      shopretailhq
@geraldine632 becoming an Ambassador is more than just being here a while- it requires minimum of sharing, helping new people, sales and good ratings.

@shopretailhq Oh honey thank you so very much.your a sweetheart. I just have trouble with more than 5 pounds when they bundle and I didn't know what to do. Thanks so very much. Have a good weekend. stay safe. Becky🙏

@bitsofcountry you know you can increase the shipping weight before you print the label as well. Just in case you didn’t know. ❤️

@shopretailhq I'm sorry I wasn't.with my phone. do I need to tell them or do I have to pay it. one time I had to get 10 pound label for 22.50 and they only bought 18.00. what would you do. sorry to bother you.
Jul 31Reply

      shopretailhq
@bitsofcountry No it's okay, not a bother. Price the item accordingly (higher) to cover the fact it's heavier (you will have to pay for shipping) you tell the buyer that you cannot discount the item. The additional postage is on the seller not the buyer here on PM.

@shopretailhq ok thanks so much I appreciate it more than you know. I just started in March so I don't know much lol. now I'm wondering how to put your sign in my closet. I have it on my likes but I don't know what I'm doing I think I added it to a bundle yesterday. 😂 can you tell me how to do it?

I'm new to selling on Poshmark and just received my first offer, 50% less than what I listed the item for. I was worried that I listed too high, so I started researching the item again and came across your chart. This is so, so useful as both buyer and seller!! Would you mind if I share this? Thanks!!

Hi, I’m still pretty new to PM and never had this happen before. Someone had an item listed at $48, I offered $38. Under this, that would be acceptable. They never responded, so after it expired I tried to offer $41. However, it wouldn’t let me and it turns out the user blocked me! Why would someone go so far as to block a person for a 20% below offer? This is new to me and I’d love insight!
Sep 09Reply

      fatface76
@kjsumm17 I think blocking you is a little extreme. Some people don't budge on their prices at all...and that's their choice, however they could have simply declined your offer or counter offered with what they would have accepted.

      kjsumm17
@fatface76 that’s what I thought too! That’s how I ended up on this posting with the chart on your page… I googled if it was offensive haha I’ve just never had that happen before. Typically people negotiate or just decline. But a block seemed harsh, especially because I was willing to go up some more! Thank you for your input :)
Sep 09Reply

      fatface76
@kjsumm17 you probably dodged a bullet by not buying from them 🤣 😂

I hope it's alright that I shared this chart with my followers. After reading comments, I noticed people had asked permission first, but it seemed more that they were asking to add it to their closet. Great chart by the way!

THANK YOU. I don't believe in even making offers lower than what the seller posted. Especially considering the cut that Poshmark takes.

I’m so thankful I came across this. I just started selling today and I was sort of taken aback by the low offers I’m getting. At first I was offended and thought well maybe I’m being ridiculous but now I’m just thinking maybe I should go to their closet and lowball them back 😂🙈

@chinchoscloset 😂😂😂 you totally should! Throw this chart right in their closets!

Thank goodness somebody understands, after 2 $8 offers when I’m only netting $4 and they only let you withdraw amounts only over a certain threshold why would they people keep spamming $8 offers. I only excepted an $8 offer once, then found out I couldn’t withdraw anything under it and $10 is the least and that depends, I could just donate it for less hassle.

I just came across your chart when I googled help on this issue today. Your chart is perfect to address the low offers. Love the categories for low vs acceptable offers. May I have permission to use it in my closet. 💕

I’m a newbie to Poshmark selling. How do you send this to lowballer. Is it in their bundle comment section?
Apr 23Reply

      fatface76
@standoutgirl the way I do it, is share it to their closet. So you add this chart to your inventory (like it is listed in mine). You click share and Posh gives you the option to type in the members name you want to share it to. Copy/paste their username is easiest. I usually also add the item they lowballed me on.

Hi!! Fabulous closet babe. 💯 I’m a fellow Posher and have been low-balled to death with offers lately. Like SERIOUSLY ridiculous. I don’t believe many (at least I’d like to think…) realize Poshmark takes 20% and shipping DISCOUNTS also come out of our earnings. May I please use this offer guidance!? I love the NO, THAT IS RUDE especially!! Just didn’t want to use without your permission. Have a fantastic weekend!! 🥰
Best, Monica

@jobrien3 If you want to do the back & forth thing, can't "Price Firm" be added to item description. If I don't see something like that, I think the seller has priced the item anticipating a little back & forth. ANYWAY, chart is helpful.
