Made with the top wings from a real Papilio Ulysses butterfly. These are in the bird wing family of butterflies because of their size. The most brilliant blue windows on a black velvet field. I seal the wings in acrylic so they are durable enough to be jewelry components and dangle them from my hand forged sterling ear wires. The very last photo shows a sample of the whole butterfly. The next to last photo shows the back sides of the earrings. The blue side is how they attract a mate, the black side is how they hide from predators!!!
