Rare VTG Louisville Stoneware Oval Rooster 15.5” Serving Platter w Yellow Rim

Vintage Louisville Stoneware Oval Rooster 15.5” Serving Platter with yellow Rim. Farmhouse. Rare, Discontinued Piece. An oval serving platter in the "Rooster" pattern by Louisville Stoneware made in USA. 1980s. The white oval platter has a large rooster motif in yellow, green, red and brown standing in the center with a yellow painted rim. In very good condition with no chips or cracks noted. There are some normal manufacturer’s glaze bumps on backside. Founded in 1815, it is one of the oldest stoneware producers in the United States. They specialized in decorating its pottery with Kentucky Derby and Christmas themes. One of the better-known potters was Mary Alice Hadley, known as M. A. Hadley, who started a company of her own in 1939. As you may know, M. A. Hadley pottery became collectible and highly sought after pottery designer. Louisville Stoneware has regional stores today.
