Not "cultured" (machine-tumbled new glass) but old glass tumbled in the Atlantic for decades, maybe a century or more. Cut crystal tableware that was popular from the 1800s to the 1940s is the usual source of rare gray seaglass. A component of the crystal, lead oxide, when exposed to the sun's ultraviolet rays, turned the glass to a dark gray color. Gray sea glass is scarce. No two pieces are alike!
