Rare 1970’s Vintage Psychedelic Paisley Print Dress by Bill Atkinson

I recognized this dress from a mile away.. It's a Bill Atkinson...Glen of Michigan.. A rare 1970's label with some sweet folklore attached.. The label is missing, but I know this dress.. Without a doubt! The fabric is bright psychedelic paisley patchworks in his signature square panels.. I wish there was a fabric label because I’m uncertain of what it’s made of… Feels almost like a bark cloth or a brushed cotton or wool..it’s kinda felty texture…but not a poly.. The square panels are separated with a matching border trim.. The cut is a classic underbust empire waist..the hippie dresses of my mothers generation.... Long sleeves with wooden button cuff closures.. The print is choice cut at the sleeves and really striking! Maxi length skirt with a nice medium sweep.. Gorgeous fabric layout at the bottom of the skirt.. That print!! It's all about that print... Oh the zipper...the signature Bill Atkinson zipper, hidden under the border trim up the side of the back square.. Totally wonderful and clever design.. Unlined. Excellent condition but missing labels.. No size tag but measures like a vintage size 11 or 13 Bust 38” Underbust 35” Top of shoulder to underbust 10 1/2” Length 54” sleeve length 23 1/2” shoulder seam to shoulder seam across back 14”
