This beautiful 1960s Designer R. Mandle Balalaika Folk Instrument Guitar Brooch is a very unique piece of vintage costume jewelry. This brooch was made in New York and Robert Mandle actively participated in European exhibitions and sold more than 65% of his products outside of the United States, it is a rare find, especially in its pristine condition. Also noteworthy, in 1966 Robert won the prestigious Swarovski Desin Award. In the 1960s Mandle registered patents for his designs and this brooch is one of his signed pieces as shown in the picture, with the copyright symbol, R. Mandle, and a tiny crown as part of the mark. Measuring 3 inches in length, the striking colors of green, turquoise, clear rhinestones and bead accents are especially rare in this design.
