Ramekin Portmeirion Botanic Garden - Older Back-stamps Width: 3 1/4 in Height: 1 5/8 in Special Characteristics: SPEEDWELL Crafted In China / England / USA Microwave Safe, Dishwasher Safe Discontinued Piece Portmeirion Founder Susan Williams-Ellis first discovered her inspiration for the Botanic Garden range following a visit to an antiquarian bookshop with her husband Euan Cooper-Willis. Stumbling upon a book of hand colored floral illustrations, Susan decided that the bright, eye-catching images would provide the basis for an innovative collection of dinnerware and cookware. The successful combination of individual floral illustrations on white ceramic shapes led Susan to source yet more books, such as that by nineteenth century illustrator William Clark in "The Moral of Flowers" by Mrs Hay. Butterfly motifs and a green leaf border were added to complete the design while the name, Botanic Garden, was given to the collection by Susan, saying, "This is the only way that anyone can account for such a mixture of plants and butterflies all living together"

sukielouise Hello. I am interested in these if they are made in England as the back stamps indicate but I notice the description says China and England. Are they made in England?

homemusthav @sukielouise I am not sure why it says crafted in China on my description that was a mistake, but there is no way on this item. It says manufactured in China thank you. Also, I have two other items from the same make a small butterfly dish and a little teapot dish look in my closet and you’ll find them. You can probably bundle all of them and save on one shipping price.

sukielouise @homemusthav Thank you. Another question: In the second picture, it looks like the ramekin on the left has a small crack or discoloration at 1:00 o’clock (meaning to the right of top of the rim). Would you please clarify the condition for me? These would be for a gift and used is not a concern, but condition is. Thank you for your help!

sukielouise Hello. I continue to be very interested, but I need to know if there is a hairline crack on the rim of the ramekin pictured on the left. Thank you so much for your time!
