Ralph Lauren alligator embossed belt

i’m not sure if this is alligator leather I think it’s just regular leather as it says Italian le otherwise an excellent condition ather that has been embossed with the alligator print. The leather itself is an excellent condition. The belt closing has a few. Tiny marks otherwise in excellent condition.
