Richard O’Brien as born in England in 1942 and moved with his parents to New Zealand when he was ten. His first job was in a barber shop next door to a movie theater where the idea for “The Rocky Horror Show”. Having learned to ride horses, Richard moved back to England in 1962 to work as a stunt person and eventually moved into acting.
Having a great singing voice, O’Brien spent years in musical theatre including parts in “Hair” and “Jesus Christ, Superstar” where he met Jim Sherman who produced and directed “The Rocky Horror Show” in 1973. The hit show has been performed almost continuously since then and was turned into the King of Midnight Movies, “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” in 1975. Richard signed this 3x5 card in black ink years ago and it is still in excellent condition.
