RETIRED 1990s Michael Graves for Alessi Polished Stainless Steel Tea Kettle

Designed by Michael Graves (1934 -2015) and manufactured by Italian company ALESSI in the 1990s, this post modern tea kettle has become an iconic piece for industrial design connoisseurs. Featuring a polished stainless steel body with thermoplastic (heat resistant plastic) handle, and whistle bird spout lid. The whistling bird produces a pleasant sound when the water boils and the steam blows into the spout plug. Stamped on the bottom with manufacturer's brand, material, and provenance reading: "Alessi INOX 18/10 Italy". Note: This piece was purchased in 1992 and has never been used to boil water. It has been on our stove for ornamental purposes only. Overall great condition. Some very superficial scuffs and scratches. It has always been cleaned with a soft cloth.
