I video tape every single item in detail and the entire packing process with timestamp to ensure that the same item in the description is the same item I am selling. I do this for not only for my protection as a seller but yours as a buyer. In the rare case that an issue is to be reported and a case opened these videos WILL be sent to Poshmark support. Your hard earned money is valuable and so are my quality items that I send out. I take this extra step to ensure honesty and quality in my sales.

@carascliche omg this is assessment and something I've started to do as well ever since someone opened a case up on me with posh support about an item that I wore once and the pictures and listing reflected the same thing that they receive therefore posh ruled in my favor... Have a case been opened up on you before?

@carascliche never until two this week about items in perfect condition. Thankfully I started videoing everything due to horror stories I had heard. I get buyers remorse but to destroy an item to get out of a purchase commitment is beyond me. Your hard earned money is valuable but so are my items that I spent my hard earned money on.

@reese0702 that's my hopes in doing this. I get that there are some sellers who probably send anything out but I don't. Hence why I take this step, for both parties. Buyers remorse is not justification to damage someones item. So you damage it you're still stuck with it 💁🏻💕

@carascliche I sold something to someone several months ago who damaged the item to be able to return it to me. Poshmark canceled the sale and refunded her money, so I just ended up throwing the item away. Ugh at shady people!!

I went to eBay as soon as I clicked the link and it was sold out. Couldn't find it. Being sold out I was already prepared to spend more which was fine. I don't blame you, I wouldn't list it either. I'm not stalking the net resale sites trying to find it. I'm a hot mess. But if I find it I'll be a hot mess with a fab sweater. I never READ blogs but your sarcasm is identical to mine. Love it. @zhabce I video the item in full, literally every inch of it inside and out with the timestamp at beginning and end. Another video for packing until the box is taped up and labeled. I schedule USPS pickups typically so do not video the PO drop off

@carascliche wow. It unfortunately is just too time consuming for me to do it with each package. This raises an interesting issue regarding protection of buyers/sellers. Technically it can be argued that the package was re-packaged after the video taping etc, so is anything safe? So scary. I think I might investigate and inquire about this issue at Poshfest next week. There should be some type of clause to protect buyers. Will you be there?

@zhabce no, I so wish I was going! I am sure you will have a blast. I will say the two times I had an issue the video helped me. With cheaper items it's maybe not worth it but for the higher end I will absolutely always do it.

@unicornfunds I think it all depends on the person. Personally I'm glad I started doing it before I ever encountered an issue because it has come to the rescue. While 99% of buyers are honest the very few that do things to get out of purchases make sellers have to take extra steps to protect themselves.

Great idea! I have had SO many issues on e Bay recently. I had a girl rip a $150 silk Joie top I sold her and open a case a week later. I accepted the return and now I have to get it fixed before I can resell. Last week I sold a For Love and Lemons dress and the girl claims its fake, but it's not. I also had a girl open a case because a Joie top didn't fit like the model! eBay and 🅿️ruled in my favor. E bay also removed the negative feedback 😁

Girlfriend- KEEP DOING THIS! I've been in so many situations where I WISHED I had done it, so I started awhile ago too- remember to make sure the label is clearly viewable in the video too! I also snap a shot (if I have time) at the post office just to show that the item in the video is the same one at the PO. (I save that step for the pricey items sold, but still!) There's nothing like an open case when you shipped an honest sale ughhh

Wow, ingenious! I almost sold my mk watch the owe day, and I just got sketched out with the buyer. Gave me a bad feeling so I canceled the order. I was just scared of losing my baby that I bought with my hard earned money and not getting anything out of it.

What a good idea!! I just had someone open a case against me and I was so frustrated. I am borrowing this idea. It will possibly save me from an issue plus like you said, it protects the buyer too by making sure we as sellers are hyper vigilant in accurately describing our products.

I had a buyer stated that i mailed her a damaged item. I was so angry😤 because i would never and have never mailed anyone anything items not as described and definitely not a damaged item. This was great to read

Great idea! I just sold my 1st two items and have not heard a word back. Neither individual has "accepted" their packages yet. Is this normal and how do you know if there has been a case opened? I'm glad I stumbled apon this listing BEFORE listing higher end items. 😥 Thanks

@fashionnv you will get an email if a case has been opened and it will also state it in your sold listings section on the app. Some buyers honestly just don't realize they have to release earnings or ship to a post box and haven't picked it up yet. Poshmark will automatically release your earnings after three days though ❤️

@maryiam83 Unfortunately there are always the few that ruin it for the masses, sad but the precaution really is for both ends. The buyer knows that they are getting what is listed and I am protected also as a seller, win-win.
Awwww, I am so glad you love them! Of course, I feel like just because you are buying something from somewhere other than a department store should not mean the presentation lacks. I want every to be excited to open their purchases and enjoy the entire process.

I love this! I had an item flagged as not as described and the buyer claimed it was stained, but when it was returned it was in perfect condition. I think maybe it didn't fit correctly and they photoshopped stains on it? I was glad it wasn't ruined but the whole process was a waste of my time, and it was a very low sale for me anyway. Thanks for the idea! I am going to borrow it from you!

Oh my gosh. I wonder if I should start doing this. I find that there are some buyers who are too lazy to repost versus being honest about not caring for how an item fits. Honesty is everything. Karma will catch up sooner or later, but it sure does take the fun out of the selling experience with this out there. Hope your days stay drama free! <3
