I have many old Timex like and comparable to yours. To have it dismantled, CLEANED (to remove the old & gummy oil) I spent $200. If I were to auction this off I would probably be fortunate to get $75 of my investment back. This is because a person can purchase BETTER & MORE POPULAR VINTAGE Seiko, Citizen & other popular watches already refurbished & serviced for $50-$100.

@gpaarman01 you can dismantle, clean, and have running in about thirty minutes…with some basic tools and a few household items. And no you can’t find this model, in currently new condition. You can buy a New Quartz Timex or whatever…I’m a big fan of some of the releases from the 1960s-90s, and it seems a lot of other people enjoy them to. So go kick rocks on your own page

The vast majority of my vintage Timex in good to great shape for their age I purchased for $5-$15 individually from garage sales, estate sales & such. Often I may purchase a old watch collection for $30-$50 with 20+ vintage watches with several like or comparable Timex watches. When I then average out the cost per watch it runs between 60 cents to $2.5. They are not that hard to find if you know where to look.

Between your $135 watch cost and another $200 to service it (not including any needed parts) a person could have $335 in your watch. Watch value after, maybe $75. The high cost of your watches IS NOT doing your customers ANY favors. There is NO cheap & easy "watch oiling" services as you try to give the impression of! THESE ARE COSTLY SERVICES! They need dismantled & cleaned and many different COSTLY synthetic oils and surface gear preps are used equating to...

You state that in a half hours time a person can go through their ordinary tool box 2 get tools, oil & such to dismantle, clean, oil and assemble the watch? Just what tools & such are you grabbing... Pliers & WD-40? It also begs the question then why are you NOT servicing them, making them FAR more valuable & helping your customers out??? Let me guess, your time is too valuable? Why not post a YouTube video of you performing this "Service"??? I would LOVE 2 see that!
