Crafted at Levi’s legendary Valencia St. (525) factory in San Francisco between 1971–1973, this transitional piece represents the first “small-e” era that followed the Big E generation. The WPL 423 registration, button-back code 525, and single-stitch waistband and cuffs confirm its early production and Cone Mills USA denim origin. Good vintage condition with soft fading, authentic patina, and beautifully worn Cone Mills denim. Several original seams were carefully reinforced by a seamstress using period-correct golden topstitching thread to stabilize breaks in the original stitching caused by age and wear. Reinforcement was done cleanly and minimally to maintain the jacket’s 1970s structure and authenticity. Photos show representative examples of the reinforcement work for transparency; all repairs were cosmetic stabilizations only, not modern alterations.
