RARE Couroc Egyptian Scarab Platter

Couroc was made in Monterey, CA in the mid 1940s. Many of the designs were done by the owner's artist daughter. I love collecting this brand. It is made of black resin with metals and wood as inlays. This one is a large 12.5 by 18 inch tray. Couroc was sold in high quality stores in the Wedding China section. Couroc was advertised as being impervious to water and to be used as a cocktail tray. I use them in my home as art, placed on a stand. This is the mysterious Egyptian Scarab design. I've only seen one other like it for sale, not in this nice of condition. This is very shiny although it does have one small knick and a scratch on the front surface. Not very noticeable. On the back, there are scratches probably from where it was stored leaning up against something.See all Pictures. This tray is missing the Gold Couroc label, but the makers’s name is embedded in the back of the tray.
