This is a very rare vintage 1940's butterfly brooch by VOGUE JEWELRY.
It features 1mm ruby red glass austrian crystals that are pave set in gold electroplating, and black enamel on the wings and antennae.
This looks to have been repaired on the back with silver solder, but otherwise in fantastic condition.
This is signed VOGUE JLRY, which is one of the earliest marks from the company that launched in by George Grant, Jack Gilbert, and Harold Shapiro, who was reputedly the chief designer for this business. Bernard Shapiro, who helped form Les Bernard in the early 1960s, was also his son. Early in 1975, the business shut down.
Weight: 22.12g
Size: 2.5" H x 2.5" W x. .4" D / 6cm H x 6cm W x 1cm D
Condition: Front is excellent. Back has a repair with silver solder (see photo)
