Stunning Abstract Artisan Crafted Modernist Brutalist Style Marked 14K Brooch Pin with Creamy Matched Baroque Pearls and Stippled handmade leaves. Brooch sports Modernist Angular fine open work. Brooch has symmetrical geometric lines with bold patterns. This labor intensive quality piece is, unfortunately, not artist signed. Brooch measures 2" across and 1 1/2" high, weighs 10 grams and has a roll over style safety clasp. I believe this brooch to be from the 1950's-1960's
The brutalist era defined by big looks, somewhat of those from the classic Hollywood glam era, yet redefined by the used of a more "natural approach" to setting using flowed gold and nugget-esque looks from artists like Arthur King.
Modernist design emerged in the early 20th century as a response to changes in technology and society. Simplified, clean lines replaced ornamentation, and new materials were embraced. From the mid-1940s designers and makers from Scandinavia and Finland led the way within the Modernist jewellery movement.
Please read sellers instructions and check out my store. Most Jewelry, and other items, are vintage and will have some light wear from use, I describe all of my quality items to the best of my ability. I am not a jeweler or a gemologist, and I do the best I can on my descriptions and any flaws will be noted. I lightly clean/buff the vintage jewelry so the patina is preserved. Please ask questions before you bid, pictures are part of the item description. Display boxes
