Rizzo is my almost 16 year old YorkiePoo who is absolutely everything to me. Unfortunately, his health has taken a turn and what we initially thought was a uti is something bigger yet to be determined. He was just finishing a second round of antibiotics and we're back at square one as of this afternoon. I have an ultrasound scheduled for him on Wednesday but may need to visit the emergency vet again if things get worse in the meantime. All of your purchases for the foreseeable future fund Rizzo's medical bills. I'm currently on disability for an autoimmune disease and my funds are very limited so every little bit helps, I really, really appreciate it! ❤️❤️❤️ 10/4/2023 update: my worst fears came out of his ultrasound this morning. He has an inoperable tumor in his prostate and bladder. My heart is completely broken. I have to decide if it's fair to put him through oncology or not or just try and keep him comfortable. The vet thinks chemo/radiation treatment would only give him 3-6 more months. I'm a complete mess 12/11/2023 update: Unfortunately I had to say goodbye to Rizzo last month 😭 the cancer spread more quickly than expected and it wasn't fair to keep him on so many meds that knocked him out so he wouldn't be in pain. This is the hardest thing I've ever gone through, I miss him so, so much. I'm still working on paying off his vet and medication bills sadly, but so thankful for the over 15 years we had together 💔

genyfur Ahh… I’m so sorry to hear about your fur baby. You had briefly told me about his poor health on your Rylan listing. My heart breaks for you. It’s never easy losing a family member & doesn’t seem fair to be stuck paying for medical bills that in the end didn’t help. I know… I’ve been there (and still tear up after 2 yrs) but know you gave your baby the best life ever. My thoughts & prayers to you & yours 💕 🌈

mikmaven Oh my gosh! I just came to check on you as I’ve been watching your Rylan’s and I know I don’t know you but I absolutely feel your pain. It was just the one year anniversary of putting down my heart dog and I miss him so much. I also feel so lucky to have had him for so long but omgsh. I’m just so sorry.

mikmaven @katlynw02 I truly understand and again, I know you don’t know me but I’m happy to chat or vent or just be angry they don’t get time stay with us forever whenever. Doing silly little things to remember him by has been oddly Comforting for me.

selectpicks I am so sorry. I have an 18 year old bug that I can't imagine life without. However he has just about every problem you could think of, he is blind, deaf, has kidney disease and has to be kept in a cage because he pees uncontrollably, has a big tumor that burst so now I just clean it and wash his blankets like 3 times a day. He's very skinny from cancer. I always said I'd never give up on him bc he has helped me get through so many things. I am so sorry about your little guy. 😢

stylerecharge I just saw and read about your sad goodbye. You did right by him to his end. I hope you have been able to bring another pup into your home and heart by now. If not please think about fostering. I am going through the need to raise funds now for my Rosa’s surgery (she was a foster fail). I am happy to say that I have finally been able to schedule it. She is only 6 and I have no doubt will be healthy again soon.

katlynw02 @stylerecharge thank you! Unfortunately, my chinchilla who I've had for over 21 years passed this last Friday so I've been going through it all again. My heart can't take losing any more animals, it's so hard. I wish I could foster! One of my friends does a ton of amazing foster work and transports, etc. but I'd have to wait to find a place with a more lenient pet policy.
