Profiles in Courage by John F Kennedy (1961 Hardcover in Dust Jacket, Pulitzer Prize Winner, from Inaugural Edition)
John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) was the 35th President of the United States (1961-1963), and the youngest man elected to this office. On November 22, 1963, when he was hardly past his first thousand days in office, JFK was assassinated in Dallas, Texas, becoming also the youngest President to die in office.
The Pulitzer Prize for biography in 1957 was awarded to Senator John F. Kennedy for this book, "Profiles in Courage." Between the time Kennedy won the presidential election in November 1960 and his inauguration in January 1961, Harper & Brothers obtained a new foreword, designed a new Dust Jacket and promoted orders for this inaugural edition. xxvi + 266pp.
