The bail is gold and textured. It's glued to the posterior of the stone. The stone is polished and shiny. Banded agate's properties include its physical composition as a microcrystalline form of quartz (\(SiO_{2}\)) with a hardness of 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale, making it durable.
