Plain English Handbook 1939 Harcover Vintage Book, Doodles, Graffiti, Burn (?)

This book has been through a lot :) It is missing its dust jacket but has a lot of, um, character. There are many notes and also commentary throughout the book. It also looks as if it may have been burned at one point. And there's possible water damage. Please see pics. I chuckled reading through some of it.
