The Village of Ridgeland was laid out in 1872 and on February 26, 1874 the First Congregational Society of Ridgeland was founded, the forerunner of Pilgrim Church. In 1918 the name was changed to Pilgrim Congregational Church.
In 1971 the Rev. Leslie E. Lewis and his wife, Laura, came bringing new life to the church for the second one hundred years. This is doubly significant as he is the bridge between the hundred years past and the hundred years future.
