Pier One Monkey extended arm handle stoneware coffee mug

Pier One Monkey white mug. The mug has a brown and black monkey painted on it. The monkeys stem extends outside of the mug to become the handle. The mug is hand painted stoneware. There is a drilled hole in the bottom of the handle that I am unsure of its purpose.
