Peppa Pig Peppa's Magical Parade Playset 4 Figures train NO sound NO movement

This is a super cute Peppa Pig train. It comes with all the parade floats & train engine shown along with the figures. The battery compartment is rusted. I put multiple sets of batteries in and couldn’t get the train sound or movement to work. Please see pics.
