This is a rare set of two Pennsbury pottery serving dishes with a carrying tray and holder.
In excellent condition except for the black paint peeling off a small portion of the stand. (Last picture.)
Pennsbury pottery is vintage American made pottery from Pennsylvania. In 1950, Henry Below, a ceramic engineer and mold maker, and his wife Lee Below, a ceramic designer and modeler, founded Pennsbury Pottery. The pottery was located near Morrisville, Pennsylvania, the location of William Penn’s estate Pennsbury.
Henry and Lee Below previously worked for Stangl, which explains why so many forms, manufacturing techniques, and motif are similar to those used at Stangl. A series of bird figurines were Pennsbury’s first products.
It measures -in its stand- 12 inches long 7 1/2 inches wide and 3 inches tall to the top of the handle.
The individual plates measure 7 1/2 inches long, 5 inches wide and 1 inch tall
