missyshuk @claudiartist this helps buyers too. I don't sell on Poshmark but this lets me know how much the fees actually are and how much you make. I sold for years on other site's and fees kept going up & up. I appreciate you posting this & also that you dont take offense to low offers you just come back with your lowest. This money helps life to be a little easier for all of us. You make a little extra money for your family & I get a discount on a product I wouldn't be able to afford otherwise.

girlrandi @missyshuk thank you for your feedback. Yes I’ve found things on here I would have never bought in a retail store. I do feel we shouldn’t be taxed on use clothing that’s already been taxed before but I don’t make the rules. I’v also sold things that before posh I gave away makes it better when you can regain some money back. Happy poshing! Randi

cpkruseae @girlrandi I’m an accountant and every state that I have experience in sales tax with (about 35) does not require sales tax to be collected on the sale of personal items. Think yard sale and Craig’s list. I get why posh charges it across the board to Cover their butts but for the majority of sellers on here it’s not required. The shipping costs on here are also getting crazy. When I joined it was 4.99. That’s reasonable but not it’s not worth it for many lower cost items.

girlrandi @cpkruseae Your right! I don’t work my closet near what I did because of this reason... glad it’s not my bread and butter. It’s enough for you to buy things not as pictured but to be taxed and shipping prices a fine line of not as described very disappointing into being gun shy to buy off here to say the least. claudiartist @missyshuk thank you! I really don’t sell on here much anymore, may pick it up a bit. I think the rates have gone up a bit and it seems like Poshmark wants to make this more of a “social” app like Twitter and Instagram where all you have are followers, but not really buyers, Poshmark wrote to me stating they “generate” followers!! I want shoppers and buyers, I want people to follow because they like my closet, lol... thank you again, rant over...haha 😄😄😄

mmack3333 This is simply amazing! I was only buying, until I recently began selling to support (ok, try to support) my shopping addiction. But Poshmark has made me feel like such a cheapskate for declining decent offers, or over pricing my items just to make a buck. Also we have add in shipping materials, printing labels, time and gas. It’s so frustrating that Poshmark is so greedy, especially now with the new shipping increase. Thank you for such a great informative post!!

I feel like I have to raise my prices because with some items I have priced $6 and below, my take goes negative if I offer a discount with discounted shipping. girlrandi @pimpinghandbags lol unbelievable, I made quite an attractive post saying 50 percent off is not an offer… when I first started posh it was nothing like it is today. We didn’t pay taxes on used items sometimes junk that’s been taxed when it was newly purchase. The shipping is way higher. I don’t work my closet anymore by the time everything is taken off the 🔝 it’s just not worth it! If you see any signage you’d like to use be my guest ;)
