queenmumm @lynaybundick We were all new at one point or another! Just breathe and take a look at some of the tips in my closet - also click on my blog link at the top of my closet. It takes some work to build a closet and a followiing but there are shortcuts to getting noticed. I strongly suggest marketing your items on other media (Posh makes it easy) and building a Host Pick worthy closet. HPs are the fastest way to get great exposure, shares, followers and SALES! queenmumm @nikki1994 I took a quick look in your closet and I have a few tips that may help: try to take some covershots of you or someone modeling the jewelry - especially those necklaces. You also need to give us a few extra pics - a little closer to see the detail and maybe a reverse view on each listing. Pretend that you've never seen these pieces before and analyze what you would want to see on each listing with regards to detail. I'll tag you to a few other tips in my closet. cassandraknox @queenmumm Hi, Brenda. Can you help clarify something for me regarding sharing and parties? Is it true that an item can only be shared to a party once? Does this include the evening parties? If I am sharing from the party feed at either a daytime specific party or the evening party, should I share to my followers or to the party? If I am sharing a closet and a party is going on, should I share it to the party or to my followers? I am asking because I shared a gals item specific listings to a party and she came back and told me NOT to share her things to the party cuz she wanted to do it at the end of the party. Only share to my followers. I'm confused 😝😝😝. I certainly don't want to tick anyone off. Thanks for any insight you can share. 💕

queenmumm @cassandraknox Hi, Cassandra! Yes, the evolving consensus now is to share other Poshers' items to ONLY your followers during the party times. An item may only be shared ONCE into a party no matter who originates the share - and this is true for ALL parties. Some sellers have specific ways they want their items shared into the parties - some want to share all of their items as the party is winding down so they can be at the top of the party feed or they want to space out their listings in the party feed. It's hard to know the etiquette for this - and it's justifiable that we want to help our fellow Poshers by making sure their items go into the parties no matter what. With over 200K listings in the evening party, the main feed is daunting. This is why there is a need to wait until the end. My feeling is that buyers will be checking the feed over the course of the night, not just at the end, so it's fine to share items at the beginning, middle and end. Hope this helps! :)

queenmumm @cassandraknox Just to clarify - when I say to "share items at the beginning, middle and end" I mean that you shouldn't feel compelled to wait on sharing your OWN closet at the end of the party. More often than not, I miscalculate on how fast I can share and sometimes end up with items that don't make it under that party cut-off time. That's worse than sharing it early in the evening. Always share your entire closet during every party to help with your exposure. :)

queenmumm @ringleader Hey Holly! Wow, I'm SO sorry I have not seen this until just now. I apologize for not answering. I'm not ignoring you - not by any means. Sometimes my feed gets a bit backed up. You posted this during what we affectionately call "hell week" in my household - Mother's Day, my birthday and our anniversary - all in a 7 day time period. My hubby gets a free pass all year and then BAM all my special days line up - thus hell week. But I digress.... Again I'm sorry for not catching this comment. My best tips to getting party host and SU are to Posh every single day like you are an ambassador to Poshmark. This means a happy, positive attitude ALWAYS, sharing your closet three times a day during the parties, sharing host picks during the evening parties, sharing over the course of the day. Get as many items listed as you can and always improve those covershots. Make sure you are complying with all rules and guidelines. I just recently posted a blog article that details all those things not allowed on Posh. It is good for even a seasoned Posher to take a look again. Another tip is to get out on other social media sites and tag Poshmark in your pics and posts. Rejoice in your Poshing and talk about it! You want your username to become familiar for all the right reasons. I have many more Q-tips in my closet which I'm sure you've read, and which play a part in this goal, but I'd say that consistency and positivity really are the most important attributes. If you feel comfy in your Poshing and want to take that next step, drop a quick email to PMHQ and ask to be considered for both host and SU. It doesn't hurt to ask. If anything, it shows your enthusiasm for the app. One email should do, and give them a few days to respond. They get a lot of requests, as you've probably guessed! Don't fret if it takes longer than you hoped. If you are devoted to Poshmark, it will happen. I wish you the best of luck. Keep me posted!!! Cheers! <3 :)

queenmumm @nvdasalways Hi! Welcome to Poshmark! We are a friendly and unabashedly addicted crew of Poshers who love to help the newbies. I have a few Q-tips in the closet that will help provide some pointers as well as my blog listed above in my closet. Everyone is invited to the Posh Parties and the individual listings that show a user is hosting is just a heads up to all - don't worry if you aren't tagged immediately in those listings. Start a conversation with a few of these gals if you want and they will check out what you have to see if it can become a host pick. Make sure you are following all the rules and guidelines - VERY IMPORTANT. With regards to hosting, I suggest that you work on creating a beautiful closet first, adding items and sharing it. Then share with other closets and follow the ones that you love. When you feel comfortable with the process and the nuances, just send an email to Poshmark HQ and ask to be considered for hosting duties. It may take a while, but just keep positive and make sure you are representing Posh in an outstanding manner. That's the best advice. Happy Poshing and Cheers! :)

I always try to respond to every post I receive and sometimes they get snarfed by the newsfeed and lost forever! It's only by my re-reading my listings that I find those posts that mean so much. Second, I appreciate you taking the time to read my tips and I applaud you for working on your closet to the point of getting that wonderfully phenomenal FIRST HP! It's the greatest feeling ever and I wish everyone could experience it. Know that even a few un-Posh items are common mistakes for new (and even established) Poshers. I always say fix it, move on and don't worry that you'll never get a host pick, become an SU or host a party. It makes you a better Posher and then you can mentor the next set of newbies! And that kind of work on Posh doesn't go unnoticed. I'd love to help answer any other questions you have about any of my tip listings. My fave quick tips to dispense are: ALWAYS improve those covershots, share during the party hours, share from the host picks to pick up shares and followers, and network outside the app on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter and Tumblr. queenmumm @carenlovesgucci Ah, Caren my lovely! You know I've seen the Prestige (major pant pant pant😋😋😋) plus all 8 seasons of Dexter. We all need a Netflix party complete with junk food and Hugh. Regarding your query - if any of the items are liquids (even if they are sealed), they are not allowed. It's the air transport with USPS that determines this Posh rule. Any makeup that is liquid is also not supported. Powder makeup is fine. Now, the all important question - are you going to Poshfest???!!!

I know about the "liquid, perishable,etc) lol over the last 1.5 years of Poshing, Tanya (my local Post Mistress) and I have become friends :) I have some items I might do in lots... The others, friend will reap my propensity for an impulse purchase :) Funny you mention PF.. I was on line last night on Expedia.. A bundle for 5 days NYC TO SF and the Nikkti ( May have spelled hotel wrong) is $895... Normally doable but I just shelled out $1000 I'd decuctibles and a few hundred in rental cars over last 5 weeks ( two accidents .. Deer and 1.5 weeks ago an irate Pakistani cabbie with a fare)! I am relying on sales and even with the above "unexpected" expenses.. My vacation fund is close to amount. So fingers crossed!

lakeforest Hi I'm Dorothy & have been meaning to say a proper "hi" to you😊 I've really tried to absorb as much info as I can from your awesome blog ( of which I replied to one of the articles-don't know if you've seen it or not, lol) I've been officially selling here since April & so far my experience has been wonderful! You're so right; there are a couple of great gals here who took me under their wing early on and gave me many tips on improving my covershots, social interacting and getting tagged to party invites, etc. Last weekend, I was getting close to hitting 10k followers and it got noticed by many and so I had a great cheering crowd to get me there! My closet by Posh standards is a lil smaller than many here but am eager to add more listings soon. It truly does take some work & focus to be on here but the end results for me have been meeting & connecting with the gals here. I've recently tagged party co-hosts to check out other newer closets that follow rules in hopes that they'll get their 1st HP. I've had 6 of them in the last month and have been so honored getting that recognition and exposure. I recently emailed PMHQ about becoming an SU or co-hosting a party. They said they were slammed with tons of requests but I'm in a queue now but I don't mind waiting as I could still learn a lot more, lol! Have a wonderful day & hope to be in touch soon😘

She's one of my FAVE PFFs whom I have YET to meet in person. It's killing me! As for finding a gal to take under your wing, I've found that it is easier to broach the subject if you are sharing in someone's closet and notice that she has more than 10 items but no HP yet. Ask if she's new and offer to help share her closet to get her started. If she seems excited at the offer, that's when you can make suggestions and also direct her to my blog for more tips and the Poshible list. Once she starts making changes, that's when you spring your PFFs on her closet to facilitate those all important share sprees. You'll make a PFF for life. I promise! :)

shopandpop Thanks so much for all your tips and insight!... I have been on here since Sept and have been growing slowly but my goals are to get to 10K (then 15k, 20k, 25k, etc, lol)... Host a party and become a Suggested User!... I know I still have to work more on the giving tips part , and I read that you have to be Poshing with a rules abiding closet for at least 3 months.... So since I'm getting close should I aim for SU first or to host/cohost a party first?

You seem to be very well-established, rule-abiding and have numerous sales in your closet - and I see no reason why you can't apply for both SU and host at this time. Just craft an email and send your requests to su@poshmark.com and host@poshmark.com. I've seen users become both simultaneously, but you may hear about get hosting first. Please be patient either way as the pool of prospective hosts and SUs continues to grow. It may take 3-4 months to hear back on your requests, so in the meantime, just keep doing what you are doing - listing, sharing, reaching out to the community and having great customer service. That's the best way to achieve greater Posh success. Cheers and Good Luck! :)

queenmumm @shopandpop Yes, the following game listings are allowed on Posh and can help to boost your followers. Make sure you are also sharing your closet 3 times a day (at least) and always during the party hours. Finally, do as much sharing as you can in the host picks of previous parties. The items are fantastic and are from rule-abiding closets. You can rack up a lot of return shares that way. Happy Poshing! :)

queenmumm @civvisavvi Cylvan, congratulations on winning that fight! There are a lot of survivors here on the app and it is awesome to direct some of your proceeds to the cause. I've been on Posh for almost 2 years (wow, has it been that long?) and I've amassed a number of PFFs that I am fortunate to see on occasion. I've attended two Poshfest conventions and almost a dozen Posh meet ups. You will find the community here is very strong, close knit and greatly interested in helping new Poshers such as yourself grow and prosper in your closet. There's very little to critique in your closet as you seem to be getting the hang of it quickly (listing a lot of items is key, as well as great covershots). But in the spirit of this specific post, I've created a number of Posh Q-Tips in my closet which you can find within the listings. They give nuanced hints that will help you succeed faster. rmccouture Hey Brenda! My name is Amanda, and I wanted to thank you for all of the great tips that you have up here for all of us curious about the ins and outs of PM. I was embraced early on by a few amazing Poshers who I have developed meaningful, sweet and sincere relationships with. I'm an English teacher by trade, but was injured a car accident last year that has forced me to find another means of supporting my 9 year old and myself for the time being. One of the most depressing things about being home-bound is the lack of interaction I have with others, and the feeling that I am not doing service for people. Finding PM, and having the ability to share what limited knowledge I have has been beyond rewarding for me, and has made selling the items in my closet seem like more than just "sales". I live by the principle that I can only get what I give, so I'm always quick to compliment, make a suggestion, give encouragement, and advise anyone who asks me to. So,when a new posher purchased 5 of my items separately a few weeks back, I contacted her immediately to inform her about bundling, and help her save the most money on shipping costs. Her final bundle, which took over a week to create, with me switching items that she had asked me to reserve for her to other items, tweaking prices, waiting for her original purchases to fully cancel so that her funds were placed back into her account, and finally ship out the final package. (If you're interested, you can see the original items she bought in my closet; a Givenchy pouch (new), Celine bag (authentic), vintage Chanel pen set (new), red Coach wallet (authentic), an Elliot Lucca bag, and a new with tags vintage Yves Saint Laurent convertible clutch). All the while, I was giving her advice on PM, explaining what things meant, etc. (you may see some of our correspondence under the Celine bag, which was the original purchase she made). I put a lot of effort into communicating with her, because I do that with everyone! Just the other day, I advised a posher to purchase a metal testing kit so that she could know for sure if something she was selling was sterling (she bought one that day and sold two bracelets today!) Recommended that one of my Posh Pals change her cover shots to reflect what she was selling better, and talked to a new seller about how she can take photos with her camera, upload them onto her computer, email her listing to herself and then use her cell to post the listing (she's a recent eBay refugee (as I was) and was having issues taking photos with her phone). I LIKE helping others! It gives meaning to my life. I did not hear from the buyer of this bundle. I heard from PM support a few days after the package was delivered. It was a generic message stating that the buyer made claims that the "item" was not authentic and not as described. Everything was authentic! I wrote support back immediately, alerting them to the fact that there was more than one "item", asking which item the buyer was claiming to be fake, and sharing with them what I have just shared with you. Again, I received a generic reply stating that they would be in touch with me within 48 hours. Nothing. I heard from them today, and again, in the generic email I was told "We want to let you know that "Bundle for Gloria" is in the process of being shipped back to you for a refund. Once the order is received, we will be canceling the order and refunding the buyer. The reasons we approved this case are:- condition is not as described." It was not from a person. It was from their system. I still have no idea which item was under question, and feel like it's wrong for PM to not tell me what the complaint is. I have sold 51 items since I started selling in December 2014. I am rated a fast shipper, and have an average rating of 4.7 from 42 sales. How is it possible that one bundle could contain 6 items not as described with those stats? It's not! I am really upset, and wrote to support again regarding their promise to be back in contact with me (which was broken) as well as the fact that 6 items, totally almost $400 are not 1 item. I also wrote to the buyer to let her know how disappointed I was that after all of the effort I put into helping her, she didn't show me the respect of informing me of her issues. She wrote me back a lame message stating that she didn't want to publicly embarrass me! I have nothing to be embarrassed about! I think that I'm more upset the PM disregarded my concerns, ignored my emails, and is allowing the return of all the items I put in the bundle. The whole thing makes me not want to bundle any more, which is a terrible practice! If I didn't advise this buyer to bundle, and just sent out each item individually, she wouldn't have been able to get away with returning everything, which she shouldn't have been allowed to do in the first place. I don't think that anyone looked at the listing, examined the correspondence, or even checked out my closet, where they would have seen all of the support and love I give to my buyers and fellow poshfriends. I don't know if this is the correct venue to write such a message to you, or if it is appropriate to write to you about this stuff at all. I know that I tend to be long-winded, and apologize for going on. The injury I have is a brain injury. It affects my processing skills (especially when I get emotional), and my sensory sensitivity (can't be in sunlight, hear certain sounds, smell especially strong odors, etc. without developing extremely debilitating migraine headaches. I will hopefully heal, however it's not happening as quickly as I would like!) So, if I babbled too much, or inappropriately contacted you, I hope that you can forgive me. You just seem to know SO much, and I figured that if you didn't know the answer, you might know someone who did. If you have gotten to the end of this message, I would like to thank you for taking the time to read it. I'm sure that you are busy, and do not expect you to write me back. It feels better just to write to another human being who might actually read what I wrote, as opposed to a computer system that is bulking six separate items into one item, and failing to give me the details of this complaint. I appreciate your time, and if you know how I can best handle this, would be very grateful for your insight. Thanks again. You do a great service to others here, and it is really wonderful. mswacky03 Also I have this tag issue. When I buy things 90% of the time the clothing tag is cut out of clothes as they irritate me, poking me in the neck or u can see it thru certain material. For other covershots, use one of the graphics apps to build your own pic. I like Beautiful Mess and LiPix. A collage app is also a good one to download for adding extra pics on your listings. On the app, click your username on the bottom right of the menu bar to go to your account screen. Then scroll down & click on "Sales". Find your sold item & click on it. Scroll down & click "download shipping label". It will say it was emailed but ask if you want to download again. Click "yes". Voila!

Thanks for stopping by😘💐💗💕 At the moment, the only way to put your closet on vacation is to mark your available listings "not for sale" so they can't be bought while you are away. You can also put a closet listing explaining your absence and when you will return - some Poshers even add a "on Vacay" pic for the profile. Hope this helps. 😊👑😊

My only suggestion would be to put more of what can be bought at the very top with only 1-2 "other" info/tips listings dispersed in the first 10 items. Sometimes we put too much closet info and not enough actual merch that we want shared into the feed. There's also a Q-tip I want you to try. I'll tag you to it. :)

queenmumm @wawamama Hi Laurel! To make your descriptions look more formatted, first type them up in the notes section of your phone. Make paragraphs and bullet points, add emojis, etc. then copy and paste from notes to your Poshmark listing description. The formatting will transfer with it. :)

queenmumm @wawamama The reason to follow someone you are already following would be because you can only populate the most recent 1000 follows you make it receive. If I followed you 2 years ago, I may not be showing up on your list. If I unfollow and refollow, my closet will show up again. There's also a known glitch with follows as I've seen closets I know I'm following but I have to hit follow again. It also gets your attention in the feed so that may be a marketing ploy on their part. Cheers! 😊👑😊

queenmumm @rttlngr Hi Patricia! I have a few suggestions. Mix up your items (really randomize) - don't have any non purchase (other category) items in the top 10 listings. Once you become established, you can add the info listings back at the top. Also share more than 3 times per day those top 10 listings - make sure it's all merchandise. Keep mixing/adding more items. My q tips describe closet rotation, when to share & how to share power closets. All have helped. Good luck and cheers! 👑😘👑
