One that was in perfect condition ended up w/a chipped ear & the other had a rubbed ear & hoof. So I don't want to return stuff that I cannot easily find/get again. The other horse was already bought broken...missing a leg. I repair & make custom horses.

It is happening before it comes to my house because I often meet my mail carrier. (That press's handle had chipped plastic pcs. that I still need to 2-part epoxy back into it!)

I often noticed packages that sellers send me stuff in is the wimpy, recycled feeling type, which collapse in damp conditions...& also some sellers don't tape up well enough. So yes, the sellers & the package workers need to give a 💩! I'm getting a complex here especially since ya all seem to be saying it is just me getting this treatment!

But I also had some shippers that just threw stuff together. People need to understand that a box or package gets thrown, kicked, crushed, tossed upside down & perhaps straight out of a passing airplane to the buyer!

winsomewardrobe @zev4u_lexx_luvr yikes! I've had a couple bad ones like this too. Been very lucky to have not had damaged items though. I would normally use a tyvex envelope for a top like your purchase. I fold it over and secure with tape as well as the adhesive that is on it. That usually fares a bit better than boxes, but if you think a box would be better for you let me know.

zev4u_lexx_luvr @reinem My postal carrier says that they must get damaged at he bottom of the bins. Sellers often don't protect items at all. I made comments I believe about model horses I bought thru another site like this got damaged.

winsomewardrobe @zev4u_lexx_luvr luckily most sellers I've purchased from here package things up properly, but I've gotten things elsewhere that are literally just thrown into a bare box! kinda boggles my mind that someone would do that. I would definitely be talking to USPS every time this happens if I was you - the squeaky wheel and all. I know it's a pain to be a pain sometimes, but seems as if it's gotten pretty out of hand for you - especially with damaged items :(

Plus he says that some people don't package properly...leave stuff tumbling & crashing around. I doubt I went to the post office which bus a half hour away...they would say anything except file a claim.

My mail man then proceeded to shock me by tossing the box I had just handed him right back over his shoulder into his jeep really hard like it was nothing! So there's you mad mojo! Their quality of service went significantly down in last few years. I have seen how they toss packages right after they take it from me. And I saw package with footprint on it!!! I always over do the taping and such. 🙄 Sometimes, I wonder if buyers get them and are like "WTH?" 😉 I pack everything up and hope it gets to them sorta like the way it left me...you've shown me it probably doesn't happen. My mailman claims they get crushed whilst landing on top of each other in big bins. 📦💌📦✉️ Some of the envelopes (like in my bottom pic) was so thin & perforated that I'd say they're nearly useless because they tear easily especially if subjected to damp weather. I don't know why people use paper envelopes knowing it rains. L🙄L

He said that the boxes at the bottom of the huge bins on wheels get crushed by the weight of the other stuff on top. I am like why ME? That is why I warm people to pack good. My mail carrier once handed me a skirt that fell out of a box!

glitterlucky unfortunately the crushed packages were probably due to the USPS carriers handling them poorly. i've had this happen to me too. i would never re use a crushed box because once they are folded/ripped, they become weak. i can write "fragile" on your box and bubble wrap it inside if i have any left. my postman is very good and careful!

zev4u_lexx_luvr @mathlover91 It sounds like you really bubble wrapped it well. Rule of thumb is If the item doesn’t rattle around loosely banging into other stuff...it usually is safe. I was informed by my USPS carrier that the boxes get tossed on top of each other in huge wheeled cart bins & the stuff on the bottom can get crushed.

myvmplus This is just plain sad. Two issues at heart of it. 1. Uneducated sellers who use packaging materials that are not suited for postal handling. 2. Postal workers who mishandle package because they could care less. I'm a very long time seller and buyer since 1999 and have seen it all! My hubby accuses me of using to much tape and I tell him there is no such thing as to much😬. This post should be a real eye opener for some sellers. Hope it's get viewed by all. Sharing to my followers.

Each one carries insurance up to 50.00 if they start getting claims from your area they will sit up and take notice. There is something wrong with the chain coming to your location. I had a claim filed today because musical Christmas lights I shipped not working because the post office left the buyers package out in the rain and they got water damage. The shoes that shipped with the lights were ok because they were in a plastic bag I use for storing items at home. The buyer thinks I should have placed the boxed light set in a large sealed plastic bag the same way I did the shoes.

zev4u_lexx_luvr @diamond0811 Oh, & I use a lot of bubble wrap to help protect or layer around the items. That helps prevent them from getting wet as well...besides keep from damage. I recycle/reuse most packaging. I do get items from sellers without any type of protection & the mail carrier shoved my packages in the box. I have to warn most people I buy from about packing well.

Packages get crushed under the weight when tossed into large bins. I just received another box this week that stuff could have fell out of the gashes were big enough.
