The fact that you reached someone who was humble enough to admit that they have done this and are mindful of it now is very encouraging. You are a true ambassador and inspiration. It is indeed disheartening to list things that are pre loved, well taken care of, new and what you consider reasonable and someone offers you less than half of what you have sent a discount on discourages me sometimes as well

jordyfashions Lastly, one of my most recent offers in which I had discounted most things up to 15% totaled $145 and someone offered me $30. It mad me sad, and I haven't been as active or really putting forth the effort in selling my things anymore, but I do share tons of things from others closets now, not for reciprocity, but to support and because I like the items :-). This post has encouraged me to start again. I appreciate your post.

piranhawench I’m glad you wrote this to share! I have really low prices on most of my things & can’t afford to go lower. I try to ask sellers what they would offer me for a price. I never know if 10-15-20% off is ok… I made a BIG mistake not too long ago.

piranhawench I misunderstood the seller’s offer, as I was out of town & had missed the offer by days. The seller lowered the price of the item & I guess I didn’t understand that. I made a lower offer. I know the seller was upset but they sold me the item. I feel like I lost a friend. I didn’t mean to lowball.

hoarderhaven I hope people share this so you get the word out. For years I sold on Etsy &the big E sites. Both of those allow 1st class shipping. I saw the Poshmark CEO on TV on a stock show, he said business was down 20 to 30%. I believe its bc they do not allow 1st class. On everything I sell I offer $5-6 shipping but I pay the diff myself. Otherwise the shipping scares customers away… Time and energy is wasted Bickering on this…

I've always donated my things to goodwill, women's shelters, and family or during the holidays listed things for free for those in need. My sales report would concur. Lol. I would love to see the two spun off into separate Apps. (Like Nordstrom has Nordstrom Rack for example). jovigirl74 I’m curious after reading your post…. Do you not purchase all your packing materials from USPS? I do all mine even tape it’s all free. I also buy a bulk of 100 earrings for $8.99 and use them as gifts. So my expenses to ship out are less than $1. I have a huge closet so I can afford to sell at super low prices if I sell 100 items at $4 I’ve made $400. Maybe I’m missing something.

channeling @jovigirl74 No I do not I purchase my tape from Walmart I purchase my own thank you notes and my thank you note stickers I wrap everything in tissue paper and then put it in my customized bags I do this for a reason and the reason being is because to me it’s more professional
