PAIRPOINT RUBY RED COMPOTE / Rare Clear Stem / Controlled Bubble Ball Base / MCM

Pairpoint started producing glassware in Massachusetts in 1837 and is now the oldest surviving glass manufacturer in the United States. They are well known for their ability to introduce bubbles into glass in a swirling pattern known as ‘controlled bubble’. This 1960’s ruby red compote has the controlled bubble base but is also notable for having a clear stem. All other examples of this beautiful vintage compote have had a ruby stem connecting the bowl to the clear base. The compote measures 7 inches wide by 5 inches tall and is in like-new condition.
