The inside of the lid has a "Prayer to Our Lady". The box lid features artwork of "Our Lady of Lourdes" by Hector Garrido and bears his initials. Hector was an Argentinian artist who immigrated to the US. During his career, he illustrated many gothic novel covers as well as covers for Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys books. He is best known for painting the artwork for the G.I. Joe toy packaging in the 1980s. After the 1990s, he started painting devotional subjects. In this beautiful portrait we can still see in the grotto, the influence of his experience with gothic novels. The music box plays beautifully. The song is "Ave Maria de Lourdes" by Kronenberg.
